Bixler's United Methodist Church Cemetery
3372 Bixler church Rd.
Manchester, MD. 21158
Originally a United Brethren Church, it was built besides the Bixler family burial grounds around 1877. Apparently Benjamin Bixler built a church with funds left to him by his father, Peter, for that purpose. They became part of the Methodist denomination after several mergers. The present church was built in 1905. It is a wonderful old church with beautiful stained glass windows. The cemetery lies next to the church and is well maintained, however, small. Photos that we found showed an iron arch as an entrance to the Cemetery with Bixler’s Church on the iron. That was not there the day we visited.
