The cemetery was established in 1894, which apparently is on the iron gate that graces the entrance. Unfortunately, on our visit, there was no iron gate. We were told that they gate is being repaired and re-painted.

There are a few dates on stones that predate the 1894 founding, but both are children and they could have been moved from other local cemeteries when it opened. The earliest adult burial is John Luther Miller who died 7-7-1890. His parents are also buried there.

The cemetery is located on Maryland Route 496 and New Bachman’s Valley road.
